Above | The Bike Experience Closes Its First Edition with Great Success

More than 40 exhibiting brands, guided rides, technical moments, and special guests like Elia Viviani and Michela Moioli animated the three-day cycling event. And on Saturday, June 28, it’s time to get back in the saddle for the Granfondo Livigno Alè.
Livigno, June 23, 2025 — The first edition of Above | The Bike Experience officially concluded yesterday. Organized by Movestro – the creative force behind IBF – Italian Bike Festival – and Livigno Next, the event was created to bring cycling back to the environments that best showcase its spirit: technical trails, mountain roads, and high-altitude routes. Providing the perfect backdrop was Livigno, a symbol of high-altitude sports, boasting 3,200 km of GPS-mapped trails and a destination favored by international athletes for altitude training and cycling enthusiasts for its diverse and high-quality outdoor infrastructure.
From June 20 to 22, a large number of visitors energized the Valtellina resort, immersing themselves in the unique Alpine Energy of the area and enjoying a rich and well-structured program: test rides, technical clinics, guided tours, meetings with athletes, brands, and industry professionals.
At the heart of the event was the Above Village, an accessible and lively expo area featuring over 40 exhibitors who brought a curated selection of top products, previews, and technical innovations to Livigno. The offer was further enriched by storytelling and entertainment moments hosted by the “Scannellatori Seriali.”

“We envisioned Above as a multi-layered experience, where the bike isn’t just a means of transport but a language to discover the territory,” said Fabrizio Ravasio, Managing Director of Movestro Srl. “The audience’s interest, the quality of the interactions, and the high participation in the activities confirm the strength of our format: not just a product showcase, but a real opportunity to get in the saddle and test the most innovative models on the market in a supported, controlled environment. The most significant part of this first edition was definitely the experience-based approach and the close connection with the territory.”
Indeed, the soul of Above | The Bike Experience lay in the experiences: on bikes, on trails, around switchbacks, and immersed in the landscape. The guided rides – either part of the official schedule or organized by partners – were the beating heart of the event: a varied program designed for all disciplines and skill levels, from panoramic gravel to technical downhill, road tours to mixed-terrain routes. Each ride was carefully designed to showcase Livigno’s extraordinary natural setting and offer participants meaningful opportunities for exploration, skill development, and community – all led by local guides.
Joining them were some of the most familiar faces in the cycling world, such as Olympic track champion Elia Viviani, Eva Lechner, and Olympic snowboard cross gold medalist Michela Moioli, who now uses cycling as a core part of her training. Their presence added authenticity and inspiration to every ride.
In addition to the rides and technical workshops, Above | The Bike Experience also offered moments of reflection. During the three-day event, cycling took center stage on the mic as well, thanks to TriCiclo, Italy’s #1 cycling podcast, which hosted special episodes live from the event, featuring insights, interviews, and stories from the world of cycling. A narrative soundtrack that enriched the off-bike experience and demonstrated that cycling culture goes far beyond the saddle.
“We’re very pleased with this first edition, which officially kicks off the 2025 season,” commented Luca Moretti, President of Livigno Next. “The event has huge growth potential and perfectly reflects the DNA of our destination. Livigno has cycling in its soul, in all its forms, and Above could truly become the official kick-off for our summer seasons, now and in the future. All in all: a great start and plenty of ideas to make this a central part of our tourism offering.”
With Above | The Bike Experience, Livigno has now warmed up for the Granfondo Livigno Alè, taking place on Saturday, June 28. The event will feature two courses, 106 km and 166 km, leading cycling enthusiasts through the most iconic passes of the Rhaetian Alps, ending with a final climb up to Mottolino – retracing the legendary ascent from the 2024 Giro d’Italia.
